Box Score BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (5-7-3) rallied against nationally No. 2-ranked Adrian (12-0-1), but came up short, losing 4-3, in a non-conference game this afternoon at the Ice Arena.

The Bulldogs opened the scoring just 1:40 into the opening frame, but the Bengals tied it later in the period when Brett Hope (Blenheim, ON/Blenheim) scored his first of the season on the power play, assisted by Taylor McGraw (North Lawrence, NY/St. Lawrence) and Nick Berst (Depew, NY/Lancaster).

Adrian would regain the lead in the second period with a pair of goals, and also netted a power play marker of its own, scoring less than a minute into the third period. Mike Zannella (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) cut the lead in half when he scored his fourth of the season at the 3:13 mark off a pass from Taylor Pryce (Newmarket, ON/Cardinal Carter). Buffalo State would score again just over five minutes later, when Jake Rosen (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville North) scored with the extra skater, assisted by Sean Hrivnak (Laval, QC/College Laval) and Berst, but the Bengals were unable to net the equalizer.

Adrian finished 1 for 3 with the man advantage, while Buffalo State was 1 for 4. The Bengals' three goals marked the first time this season any team has recorded more than two against the Bulldogs. Adrian outshot Buffalo State, 37-25. Kevin Carr (Unionville, ON/Unionville) had 33 saves in the loss.

Buffalo State will next host Elmira in another non-conference game on Friday at 7 p..m.
