POTSDAM, NY—Junior
Gabrianna Boldinski (Tonawanda/Kenmore East) scored her second goal in as many games to lift visiting Buffalo State (6-6-2/3-3) to a 1-0 victory over Potsdam (5-8-1/0-6) today in a SUNYAC contest.
The Bengals controlled the game from the opening whistle, but despite a 7-1 advantage in shots, the game remained scoreless at the intermission. It would continue that way until Boldinski finally broke the tie in the 69th minute when she headed a corner kick from
Breanna Knight (Valley Stream/Valley Stream South) past the Potsdam keeper for her second goal of the season and third of her career.
The Bengals kept Potsdam in check throughout the afternoon, finishing with a 16-3 margin in shots. Freshman
Nicole Torres (Wantagh/MacArthur) needed to make just one save for her first collegiate shutout.
Buffalo State will continue its road trip tomorrow when it visits Plattsburgh at 1 p.m.
