Men’s Soccer Falls 2-0 at No. 4 Oneonta

ONEONTA, NY – No. 4 Oneonta (15-0-2, 8-0-1 SUNYAC) scored a goal in each half to secure a 2-0 win over Buffalo State (5-10-2, 2-5-2 SUNYAC) on Saturday afternoon in the final SUNYAC game of the regular season.

The top-ranked Red Dragons wasted little time getting on the board. Oneonta went up 1-0 just 45 seconds into the game after a header from Jake Sutherland sailed past Bengal goalkeeper Hunter Hein (East Amherst, NY/Clarence).

In the second half, the Red Dragons pushed their lead out to two with a shot that drilled the lower left corner.

Buffalo State was outshot 24-4 and was held to zero corner kicks.

Despite making eight saves, Hein recorded the loss in net.

The Bengals close out the 2014 season at Nazareth on Tuesday with a 4 p.m. matchup.
