BEREA, Ohio—Buffalo State (2-2) struggled at the free-throw line for the second-consecutive day, and dropped an 83-66 decision to host Baldwin Wallace (2-1) to wrap up the Yellow Jackets' Invitational.
Hillary Kollar (Johnstown/Johnstown) and
Niasha Houpe (Rochester/William Floyd) led Buffalo State with 13 points apiece, while
Brittnee Perry (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) scored eight points and grabbed a team-best 14 rebounds. Buffalo State left too many points on the free-throw line, hitting just 17 of 35. The Bengals and Baldwin Wallace both shot 37-percent from the field, but the Yellow Jackets had 15-9 scoring advantage from beyond the arc, and were an efficient 24 of 34 at the charity stripe.
Buffalo State started fast and took an early 16-10 lead, but Baldwin Wallace took the lead with six minutes remaining in the first half and never trailed again. The Yellow Jackets led 37-28 at halftime, and pushed the lead to as many as 25 in the second half on their way to the victory.
Perry represented Buffalo State on the All-Tournament Team.
Buffalo State will next open SUNYAC play on Friday, Dec. 5 at Cortland at 7:30 p.m.
