DE PERE, WI - Undefeated and No. 1-ranked St. Norbert (7-0-1) opened the scoring less than two minutes into the game and remained in control the rest of the way for a 7-0 victory over visiting Buffalo State (1-4-2) in a non-conference matchup on Friday evening at Cornerstone Community Center.
The Green Knights, who pushed their unbeaten streak to 19 games dating back to last season, including the 2014 NCAA Championship game, wasted little time taking the lead just 1:43 into play. St. Norbert held that lead for the remainder of the game.
In the second period, the Green Knights pulled away, adding three goals and taking a 5-0 lead.
The Green Knights finished the game with a 38-12 advantage in total shots.
Ian Sylves (Sloan, NY/John F. Kennedy) recorded the loss between the pipes for the Bengals despite making 31 saves.
Buffalo State returns to action on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. central for another matchup against St. Norbert.
