Box Score POTSDAM, NY—Staci McElroy (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) led Buffalo State's (19-5/14-3) high-scoring offense with 25 points in a 91-84 victory at Potsdam (6-18/4-13) tonight in a SUNYAC game.

McElroy finished 9 of 13 from the field and was 7 of 8 from the free throw line.  Bianca Smiley (Amherst/Sweet Home) added 16 points and eight rebounds for the Bengals, while Olivia Luciani (Syracuse/E. Syracuse-Minoa) and Ashley Wallace (Lockport/Starpoint) netted 15 and 13 points respectively.  Kala Crawford (Middle Falls/Saratoga Springs) chipped in eight points and six assists.

After Potsdam took a 40-39 lead at halftime, Buffalo State grabbed a seven-point edge early in the second half.  The Bears evened the score at 62-62 with 8:54 remaining, but the Bengals scored the next seven points and never relinquished the lead.  Potsdam cut the margin to 81-79 with 1:41 remaining, but Buffalo State held off the comeback bid.

Buffalo State hit 46-percent from the field and finished 26 of 29 (90-percent) at the charity stripe.  Potsdam shot 51-percent from the field and outscored the Bengals 21-9 from 3-point range to stay in the game.  The Bengals dominated the glass, outrebounding the Bears, 44-26. 

Buffalo State will close out the regular season tomorrow at Plattsburgh at 2 p.m. in a game that will decide the SUNYAC regular-season title and hosting rights for the final four.
