Women’s Lacrosse Pounds Birmingham-Southern, 19-7

Niki Paulhardt netted four goals for Buffalo State
Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Becca Martinez (Syracuse/Corcoran) and Niki Paulhardt (Hanover, MN/Oswego) netted four goals apiece as Buffalo State (4-2) rolled to its third-consecutive win, blasting host Birmingham Southern (5-5), 19-7, this evening in a non-conference contest.

Martinez finished with a game-high seven points, adding three assists. Meghan Farrell (Endicott/Union-Endicott) tallied six points with two goals and four assists, and Sarah Lorusso (Lakeview/Frontier) had three goals and two assists. Kendra Thomas (Painted Post/Corning West) and Andrea Folgherait (Oswego/Oswego) each scored twice, while Cassie Saint-Vil (Middletown/Middletown) and Kelly McGill (Endwell/Maine-Endwell) also scored. Ashley Coleman (Central Square/Central Square) chipped in four assists.

The Bengals dictated the pace from the opening draw control and build a 14-3 advantage by halftime. Buffalo State dominated nearly every statistical category, outshooting the Panthers, 28-18, holding a 30-15 advantage in ground balls, and maintaining a 16-12 edge in draw controls. Both teams struggled to protect the ball, with the Panthers committing 27 turnovers, compared to 24 by Buffalo State.

Colleen George (Johnson City/Maine-Endwell) earned the win between the pipes, allowing three goals while making five saves in the first half. Brooklynn Schilling (Lancaster/Lancaster) played the final 30 minutes and made three saves and allowed four goals.

The Bengals will travel to Atlanta tomorrow to play Oglethorpe at 6 p.m.
