Box Score SCHENECTADY, NY—Union (1-1) scored the first six goals of the game and never looked back, cruising to a 16-3 win over visiting Buffalo State (1-1) in a non-conference game this afternoon.

Rebecca Galanti (Hamburg/Frontier), Becca Martinez (Syracuse/Corcoran), and Ashley Coleman (Central Square/Central Square) netted a goal apiece for Buffalo State.

Union opened the 6-0 lead before Buffalo State finally got on the board just before the midway point of the first half. The Bengals trailed 9-1 at the intermission, and could not climb back in the game in the second half.

Union posted a 29-15 advantage in shots, while maintaining a 12-9 edge in draw controls and a 16-13 edge in ground balls. Brooklynn Schilling (Lancaster/Lancaster) started the game, allowing nine goals with three saves, and Colleen George (Johnson City/Maine-Endwell) surrendered seven goals while making four saves in relief in the second half.

Buffalo State will next visit nationally-ranked St. John Fisher next Saturday at 1 p.m.
