Colleen George (Johnson City/Maine-Endwell) made 12 saves and Buffalo State (7-2/2-0) scored the game's final six goals to defeat 16th-ranked host Brockport (5-3/0-2), 16-14, this evening in a SUNYAC contest.
Becca Martinez (Syracuse/Corcoran) scored six times to lead the Bengals, including the final four goals of the game.
Alexis Wilensky (Syracuse/Corcoran) netted four goals, and
Meghan Farrell (Endicott/Union-Endicott) had two goals and two assists.
Kelly McGill (Endwell/Maine-Endwell) also scored twice, and
Cassie Saint-Vil (Middletown/Middletown) and
Kendra Thomas (Painted Post/Corning West) chipped in a goal apiece.
Buffalo State trailed 9-7 at halftime and fell behind 14-10 with 16 minutes remaining. Brockport would not score again and the Bengals ripped off six unanswered goals to storm back for the victory, despite being outshot 33-22 for the game. Brockport had a 26-19 advantage in shots on goal, but George's 12 saves proved to be the difference as the Golden Eagles only had three saves for the game.
Buffalo State will look to extend its six-game winning streak when it visits Oneonta for another SUNYAC game on Saturday at 11 a.m.
