Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BUFFALO, NY--Stephanie Novo (Cheektowaga/Depew) went 6 for 8 with four runs scored as host Buffalo State (10-8/4-2) swept Plattsburgh (3-15/1-5) in a SUNYAC doubleheader, winning 9-1 in five innings, before erasing a five-run deficit to claim a 9-8 win in the late game.

The Bengals and Cardinals were even at 1-1 in the opening game, before Buffalo State broke it open with a run in the third, four more in the fourth and then three in the fifth to end the contest. Maddie Coneys (Clifton Park/Catholic Central) picked up her fifth win of the season in the circle, scattering five hits with three strikeouts.

Buffalo State belted 12 hits, led by Novo going 3 for 4 with a double and two runs scored, while Shelly Maggard (Niagara Falls/Niagara Wheatfield) finished 2 for 2 with a pair of RBIs.  Sarah Gorski (Cheektowaga/Depew) and Taylor Swiatek (East Aurora/Orchard Park) each finished 2 for 3 with an RBI.  Kate Brownell (Batavia/Oakfield-Alabama) added a two-run double, and Chrissy Rennard (Brockport/Brockport) was 1 for 3 with an RBI.

Plattsburgh jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the second game, and led 8-3 following a four-run sixth.  The Bengals came to life in the bottom of the inning, however, erupting for six runs on three hits and an error, sparked by a three-run double by Novo.  Coneys, who came on in relief during the sixth inning, retired the side in order in the seventh to preserve the 9-8 victory and record her sixth win of the season.

Novo was again 3 for 4 with four RBIs and two runs scored.  Brownell had a pinch-hit, two-run single that drove in the winning run in the sixth.  Carly Knight (Lewiston/Lew-Port) was 1 for 2 with an RBI and a run, and Jordan Dudish (Grand Island/Grand Island) was also 1 for 2 with two runs scored.
