Box Score BUFFALO, NY—Nationally-ranked No. 20 Fredonia (10-3/4-1) used a 10-1 run over a span of 41 minutes, 50 seconds to pull away for a 13-7 victory over host Buffalo State (7-6/2-4) in a SUNYAC contest today at Coyer Field.
Niki Paulhardt (Hanover, MN/Oswego) paced Buffalo State's offense with three goals and two assists, while
Kendra Thomas (Painted Post/Corning West) also scored three times.
Meghan Farrell (Endicott/Union-Endicott) scored the Bengals other goal, and
Alexis Wilensky (Syracuse/Corcoran) chipped in a pair of assists.
The Bengals jumped out to an early 3-1 lead, but Fredonia took control with a 5-0 run to take a lead it would never relinquish. The Blue Devils led 7-4 at the intermission and then expanded their advantage with the first four goals of the second half.
Colleen George (Johnson City/Maine-Endwell) finished with five saves in the loss for Buffalo State.
Fredonia held a narrow advantage in several stat categories, including shots at 23-22 and draw controls at 12-10.
Buffalo State is scheduled to host Geneseo in another SUNYAC game next Tuesday at 4 p.m.
