Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (13-11/7-5) split a SUNYAC doubleheader with visiting Oswego (6-15/3-11) today, claiming a 2-1 victory in the opener before falling short 7-6 in the late game.
 
Joanna Bardak (Amherst/Amherst) hit a walk-off double off the centerfield fence to end the early game in the Bengals' favor.  She added an RBI earlier in the game with a sacrifice fly.  Sarah Gorski (Cheektowaga/Depew) finished 2 for 3 and scored the game winning run, and Kate Brownell (Batavia/Oakfield-Alabama) added a double and a run scored.  Maddie Coneys (Clifton Park/Catholic Central) went the distance in the circle, scattering five hits while posting a season-high eight strikeouts.
 
Oswego complimented nine walks with four hits to produce seven runs which proved to be just enough to win the late game.  The Bengals belted 13 hits, but could only produce six runs.  Bardak continued her productive afternoon, going 3 for 4 with two doubles and four RBIs.  Jean Stahl (W. Seneca/W. Seneca East) was 2 for 3 with an RBI, and Brownell was also 2 for 3 with two runs scored. Stephanie Novo (Cheektowaga/Depew) and Chrissy Rennard (Brockport/Brockport) were both 2 for 4 with a double. 
 
Jordan Sarat (Caledonia/Caledonia-Mumford) took the loss, throwing 3 1/3 innings of relief, allowing just two hits with five walks and four earned runs.  Sam Tilkins (Grand Island/Grand Island) threw the final 1 2/3 innings, surrendering one run on two hits, while Alison Novak (Amherst/Williamsville North) started the game, pitching two innings with three walks and one unearned run allowed. 
 
After jumping out to an early 4-1 lead, the Bengals allowed a four-run sixth and trailed 7-4 heading into the last inning.  Buffalo State cut the deficit to one, but made the last out trying to stretch a single into a double.
 
Buffalo State will visit RIT for a pair of non-conference games on Thursday beginning at 3 p.m.
