Box Score BUFFALO, NY—Nationally-ranked No. 10 Geneseo (13-1/5-1) took control of the game midway through the opening half and never looked back, cruising past host Buffalo State (7-7/2-5) for a 21-10 victory in a SUNYAC contest today at Coyer Field.
Niki Paulhardt (Hanover, MN/Oswego) scored four times, and
Becca Martinez (Syracuse/Corcoran) had two goals and three assists to lead Buffalo State.
Sarah Lorusso (Lakeview/Frontier) added a goal and two assists,
Kendra Thomas (Painted Post/Corning West) and
Meghan Farrell (Endicott/Union-Endicott) had a goal and an assist apiece and
Alexis Wilensky (Syracuse/Corcoran) also scored.
Buffalo State jumped out to an early 2-0 lead and the score was knotted at 4-4 before Geneseo used a four-goal run to take a lead it would never relinquish. The Knights led 10-7 at halftime and then outscored the Bengals 11-3 in the second half.
Geneseo dominated the draw controls at a clip of 25-8 and outshot Buffalo State 42-20 for the game.
Colleen George (Johnson City/Maine-Endwell) allowed 10 goals with eight saves in the first half for the Bengals, and
Brooklynn Schilling (Lancaster/Lancaster) six saves and 11 goals against in the second half.
Buffalo State will end its season on Saturday with a home game against Potsdam at 1 p.m.
