Box Score 2 ROCHESTER, NY—Buffalo State (15-11) rallied from a three-run deficit to defeat host RIT (4-22) 7-5 in the opening game and then completed the sweep with a 7-2 victory in the second half of today's non-conference doubleheader.
Buffalo State trailed 4-1 after the first inning in the early game, but battled back to take a 5-4 lead in the fifth. RIT pulled even in the sixth, but the Bengals put together a two-out rally in the seventh and scored the go-ahead runs on a two-run double by
Taylor Swiatek (East Aurora/Orchard Park).
Joanna Bardak (Amherst/Amherst) led Buffalo State's bats, going 3 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Stephanie Novo (Cheektowaga/Depew) went 2 for 4 with a double, a triple and a run, and
Sarah Gorski (Cheektowaga/Depew) was 2 for 3 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs.
Jordan Dudish (Grand Island/Grand Island) was also 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI.
Both teams finished with 11 hits for the game.
Sam Tilkins (Grand Island/Grand Island) picked up the win, allowing two hits and one run in two complete innings of relief.
Jordan Sarat (Caledonia/Caledonia-Mumford) started the game, giving up nine hits and four runs in five innings of work.
