Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BROCKPORT, NY—Buffalo State (18-14/10-8) rallied for a 3-2 eight-inning victory in today's first game, but host Brockport (23-9/12-6) slipped past the Bengals 2-1 in the late contest to wrap up the SUNYAC regular season.
 
Brockport struck first with a two-run home run in the fourth inning of the opener, but Buffalo State rallied with runs in the fifth and the seventh to even the score at 2-2 and for extra innings.  A Chrissy Rennard (Brockport/Brockport) RBI single in the first extra frame proved to be the difference to lift the Bengals to the victory.
 
Stephanie Novo (Cheektowaga/Depew) was 2 for 4 with a triple and a run scored, and Sarah Gorski (Cheektowaga/Depew) and Shelly Maggard (Niagara Falls/Niagara Wheatfield) also went 2 for 4 for Buffalo State.
 
Sam Tilkins (Grand Island/Grand Island) improved to 5-1 in the circle, pitching 5 1/3 innings of relief, allowing just three hits and two runs.  Maddie Coneys (Clifton Park/Catholic Central) started the game, throwing 2 2/3 innings and allowed no hits but walked three.
 
Each team traded five hits in the second game, but a solo-homer by Brockport in the fourth broke a 1-1 tie and the Golden Eagles held on for the win.  Jordan Sarat (Caledonia/Caledonia-Mumford) took the hard luck loss for the Bengals, allowing just three hits and two runs with four strikeouts in four innings.  Alison Novak (Amherst/Williamsville North) threw the final two innings, giving up just two hits.
 
Jean Stahl (W. Seneca/W. Seneca East) had three of the Bengals' five hits, going 3 for 3.  Maggard had a double and a run scored, and Kate Brownell (Batavia/Oakfield-Alabama) was 1 for 2 and drove in Buffalo State's only run.
 
Buffalo State will enter the six-team double elimination SUNYAC Championship at top-seeded Oneonta on May 1-4 as the No. 5 seed.  The Bengals will open the tournament against No. 2 Cortland on Thursday at 11 a.m.
