No. 19 Oneonta Doubles Up Women’s Lacrosse, 20-10; Snaps Bengals' Winning Streak at Six

Box Score ONEONTA, NY—Buffalo State (7-3/2-1) had its six-game winning streak come to a halt with a 20-10 loss at the hands of host No. 19-ranked Oneonta (7-4/2-1) today in a SUNYAC contest.
 
Meghan Farrell (Endicott/Union-Endicott) led Buffalo State with three goals and an assist, while Kelly McGill (Endwell/Maine-Endwell), Kendra Thomas (Painted Post/Corning West), and Niki Paulhardt (Hanover, MN/Oswego) each scored twice, and Becca Martinez (Syracuse/Corcoran) netted a single marker. 
 
Buffalo State took an early 2-1 lead, but the Red Dragons quickly took control and never looked back.  Oneonta led 12-5 at the half and never let the Bengals closer than six the rest of the way.
 
Oneonta held a 36-28 overall advantage in shots, and had a 19-12 edge in draw controls.  All three Bengals' goalkeepers saw action with Colleen George (Johnson City/Maine-Endwell) starting the game and allowing 12 goals while making four saves.  Elyse Stark (Lido Beach/Long Beach) had five stops and six goals against, and Brooklynn Schilling (Lancaster/Lancaster) surrendered two goals and made one save.
 
Buffalo State will look to begin a new winning streak on Tuesday at Oswego at 4 p.m.
