ROCHESTER, NY—Sophomore Joe Vucic (East Aurora/East Aurora) scored less than two minutes into overtime to lift Buffalo State (1-0) to a 1-0 victory over St. John Fisher (0-1) in the opening round of the Flower City Classic hosted by the University of Rochester. 
 
St. John Fisher held a narrow 10-6 advantage in shots and 3-1 edge in corner kicks through 90 minutes of regulation, but neither team could break through.  Vucic attempted the only shot of the overtime in the 92nd minute, and slipped the ball inside the far right post on a boot from the left wing to end the contest. 
 
Transfer goalkeeper Hunter Hein (E. Amherst/Clarence) made four saves for the shutout victory in his first start as a Bengal.
 
Buffalo State will conclude the Flower City Classic on Sunday against host No. 13-ranked Rochester at 3 p.m.
