Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Medaille 4-0

BUFFALO, NY – Freshman Malyssa Chanthasoto (Norwood, NJ/NV at Old Tappan) recorded her first collegiate points off two goals to help Buffalo State (2-3-2) breeze by Medaille (0-5) 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at Coyer Field.

The Bengals struck with their first goal of the game 23 minutes into play. Kristin Seiferth (Brightwaters, NY/Bay Shore) sent a great pass from the midfield to Megan Chapple (Utica, NY/Whitesboro) who shot the ball sailing past the Maverick goalkeeper and into the left post.

Just over 11 minutes later, the Bengals struck again to extend their lead. Chanthasoto tallied her first goal of the game off of a long pass from Rachel Chamberlain (Brownville, NY/Immaculate Heart).

Heading into the second half, Buffalo State continued its pressure. The Bengals went ahead 3-0 in the 48th minute with a goal from Micky Tinnerman (Salamanca, NY/Salamanca), her first of the season.

To close out scoring, Chanthasoto sent a shot between the Maverick goalkeeper's legs for her second goal of the game at 73:26.

The Bengals outshot the Mavericks 19-5. Both teams each tallied two corner kicks.

Jessica McCarey (Middletown, NY/Middletown) earned the win, making one save in 32:35. Nicole Torres (Wantagh, NY/MacArthur) played the remaining 57:25 and continued to keep Medaille scoreless with three saves.
