OSWEGO, NY— Fredonia (9-6/1-0) snapped a three-match losing streak against Buffalo State (9-6/0-1), defeating the Bengals in straight sets, 25-20, 25-19 and 25-18, at Oswego tonight in the SUNYAC season-opener.
Buffalo State had an attack percentage just 10.3, compared to 25.2-percent by Fredonia, and the Blue Devils also held a 5-1 advantage in service aces.
Kayla Pyc (Grand Island/Grand Island) and
Jessica Crooks (Niagara Falls/Niagara-Wheatfield) had six kills each to lead Buffalo State's offense.
Jennifer Cecchettini (Hamburg/Frontier) finished with 19 assists and 14 digs.
Rachelle Kelchlin (West Seneca/St. Mary's) and
Delaney Laper (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) had 15 and 12 digs respectively.
