Houghton Stymies Men’s Soccer, 2-0

FREDONIA, NY—Buffalo State (1-2) controlled much of the early action and outshot Houghton (1-2) 13-9 for the game, but could not break through and suffered a 2-0 loss in the opening game of the Fredonia Classic this afternoon.

Buffalo State held a 6-1 advantage in shots in the opening half, but could not produce any offense.  The Bengals best opportunity came on a penalty kick by Barak Benyehuda (Syracuse/Westhill) in the 35th minute, but the Houghton keeper came up with the save.

Houghton broke the scoreless tie on its fourth shot of the game in the 56th minute and then added an insurance marker with just four minutes remaining.

Hunter Hein (E. Amherst/Clarence) finished with two saves for Buffalo State.
