THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Buffalo State – 2, Oswego - 1
LOCATION:  Coyer Field, Buffalo, N.Y.
RECORDS: Buffalo State (9-3-2/3-1-1), Oswego (4-7-1/1-5)

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Pavone opened the scoring in the 28th minute, working a give-and-go with August Finn (High Falls/Roundout Valley) before blasting a 25-yard shot upper 90.
  • After watching the Bengals control play for much of the first half, Oswego struck early in the second period.  William Banahene (Rochester/Brighton) made a save on a long blast, but could not control the rebound and Bernard Osei followed up, sending the ball into the empty net just over two minutes into the second half.
  • Oswego continued to be the aggressors for much of the frame, until Buffalo State settled in and started to tilt the field once again.
  • Pavone finally netted the winner in the 83rd minute, converting on a penalty kick for his 10th goal of the season, after Bass Sarr (New York/JREC) was taken down in the box.
  • Oswego finished with a narrow 14-12 advantage in shots, including holding an 11-6 edge in the second half.
  • Banahene ended the contest with five saves.

FOR THE FOES
  • Connor Lunduski registered the assist on the Osei goal.
  • Todd Lawson made four saves in the loss.
  • Oswego was issued five yellow cards in the contest.
