NEW PALTZ, N.Y.—Buffalo State closed out the SUNYAC regular season, dropping a pair of matches, falling in four sets to Oneonta and in straight sets against Cortland today at New Paltz.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Buffalo State battled hard in the opening set before being edge, 23-25. The Bengals jumped out to a 15-9 lead in the second set, and held on to even the match, but Oneonta proved to be too strong, claiming the match in four sets.
- Oneonta controlled the net with nine blocks, compared to three by the Bengals.
- Kayla Pyc (Grand Island/Grand Island) paced Buffalo State with 13 kills and two blocks.
- Britt Hallett-Jonathan (Basom/Akron) and Jennifer Cecchettini (Hamburg/Frontier) posted 20 and 16 assists respectively, and Hallett-Jonathan also had 14 digs.
- Rachelle Kelchlin (W. Seneca/St. Mary's) added 17 digs, and Delaney Laper (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) had 16.
FOR THE FOES- Jill Darpino had 11 kills for Oneonta.
- Karly Greco dished out 26 assists, and Allyson Coniglione had 25 digs.
MATCH 2 BASICSFINAL SCORE: Cortland def. Buffalo State, 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 29-27)
LOCATION: Hawk Center – New Paltz, N.Y.
RECORDS: Cortland (16-15/5-4), Buffalo State (10-16/2-7)
HOW IT HAPPENED- Cortland ripped off two quick wins and then clawed its way to a 29-27 victory in the deciding set.
- The Red Dragons finished with a .213 attack percentage, while Buffalo State managed to hit just 6.0 percent.
- Pyc led the way again with 10 kills, while Ashleen Speen (Vestal/Vestal) had eight.
- Hallett-Jonathan posted a season-best 26 assists to go with 12 digs.
- Kelchlin added 13 digs.
FOR THE FOES- Amanda May led Cortland with 11 kills, and Liz Roberts had 24 assists.
- Melanie McGuirk paced the Red Dragons with 22 digs.
NOTEWORTHY- Buffalo State will not advance to the SUNYAC playoffs for the first time since 2009.
