HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Buffalo State controlled much of the first period, but Fredonia struck first converting on a two-on-one with just six seconds remaining in the first period.
  • The Bengals netted the equalizer on a four-on-four when Hall raced down the right win and shoveled his own rebound home for her first collegiate goal.  Marcus Michalski (Woodstock, ON/St. Mary's Catholic) and Brody Power (Toronto, ON/Upper Canada College) registered assists.
  • Mike DeLaVergne (Pawling, NY/Pawling) finished with 27 saves in goal for Buffalo State, a lunging paddle save on a backdoor rebound early in the third period.
  • Fredonia was the aggressor for much of the third period.  Buffalo State was whistled for three penalties in the final seven minutes of regulation that produced 1:40 of 5-on-3 play, but the Blue Devils could not capitalize.
  • Buffalo State finished with a 32-28 edge in shots, with each team registering only one shot each in overtime.
