—Buffalo State suffered its first SUNYAC defeat of the season as visiting Cortland posted a 2-0 victory over the host Bengals today at Coyer Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Cortland took advantage of the wind at its back in the first half and generated a couple of early chances that were thwarted by Buffalo State keeper William Banahene (Rochester/Brighton).
- The Red Dragons opened the scoring in the 21st minute on a low blast from 25 yards off the foot of Drew DeJohn that snuck inside the left post.
- Cortland finished the first half with a 6-2 advantage in shots.
- The Bengals managed to flip the field with the wind in the second half, and generated several chances, including earning five corner kicks, but could not break through.
- Cortland sealed the win in the 86th minute, taking advantage of a pressing Bengals' attack to create an odd-man rush that resulted in a goal by Nick Tata with an assist from Tyler Kirschner.
- Buffalo State finished with an 11-9 edge in shots, including 9-3 in the second half.
- Banahene finished with four saves in goal.
FOR THE FOES- Joe Brandofino finished with five saves to secure the shutout.
- Tata scored his ninth goal of the season.
