CORTLAND, NY—Buffalo State avenged a loss in last year's SUNYAC semifinals and matched a school record with its eighth-consecutive victory, defeating host Cortland, 1-0, today at Jets Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Buffalo State and Cortland played a tightly contested first half with the Bengals finishing with a narrow 8-7 advantage in shots, but neither team could break through.
- The game's only offense came in the form of an own goal in favor of the Bengals when a Cortland defender redirected a cross from Meghan Allen (Big Flats/Corning East) in the 48th minute.
- The Bengals finished the contest with a 14-12 edge in shots and a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
- Freshman Erica Knudsen (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) made four saves for her fourth shutout of the season.
