BUFFALO, N.Y.—Buffalo State opened the scoring just 20 seconds into the contest and never looked back en route to a 4-1 victory over visiting Potsdam in the ECAC West season-opener tonight at the Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED- The forward line of Bri Carroll (Peoria, AZ/Virtual Academy), Christine Harris (Mountain Top, PA/Wyoming Seminary) and Brooke Kranz (Penticton, BC/Penticton) were on the ice for all four of Buffalo State's goals scored.
- Carroll finished with two goals and two assists, including scoring the game's first goal just 20 seconds after the opening faceoff.
- Harris added a goal and an assist, while Krantz tallied three assists.
- Freshman defenseman Megan Reukauf (Depew, NY/Lancaster) also scored her first collegiate goal, with a coast-to-coast rush on the power play.
- The Bengals finished 2 for 5 on the power play, while Potsdam was 1 for 6.
- Buffalo State outshot Potsdam 28-21 for the game, and Justine Silva (Baldwin Park, CA/Arroyo) had 20 saves for the victory.
FOR THE FOES- Sally Mooney scored Potsdam's only goal on the power play late in the second period to cut the deficit to 4-1, but neither team would score the rest of the way.
- Abby Tardelli finished with 24 saves between the pipes for the Bears.
NOTEWORTHY- Buffalo State is 3-0 to open the season for the first time in school history.
