RESULTSBROCKPORT, NY—Buffalo State dominated the sprint events and claimed a total of six first-place finishes in today's final tune up before the SUNYAC Championships at the Brockport Golden Eagle Invitational.
Shuntone Pricher (Brooklyn/Transit Tech) led a 1-2-3 finish in the 60-meter dash with a winning time of 7.74 seconds, tied for the third-fastest time in Division III this season.
Jazmin Dunham (Rochester/Greece-Olympia) was second with a time of 7.80 (ranked T18th in DIII), and
Catarra Burroughs (Rochester/Wilson Magnet) was third (7.87).
Dunham also won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.82 seconds, and teammate
Treasure Glymph (Bronx/Harry S. Truman) was runner-up in 9.20 seconds.
The Bengals finished 1-2-4-5 in the 200-meter dash, led by Burroughs in first with a time of 26.01.
Emikhe Tisor (Bronx/Fashion Industries) crossed second (26.57), while
Dayonna Holmes (Rochester/Charlotte) and
Sasa Vann (Mastic Beach/Bishop McGann-Mercy) were fourth (26.77) and fifth (26.90) respectively.
Vann also won the 400-meter dash with the 16th-best time in the nation this season at 58.15 seconds.
Dunham, Burroughs,
Jazlyn Porter (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) and Pricher also crossed first in the 4x200-meter relay in 1:43.03.
Other strong performances included:
Sabrina Brooks (Highland Mills/Monroe Woodbury) was third in the mile (5:23.73);
Seland Chaplin (Patchogue/Patchogue-Medford) and Glymph were third and fourth respectively in the high jump, each clearing 1.55 meters' and
Sharae Smith (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) was fourth in the 800-meter run (2:26.53).
Buffalo State will return to Brockport next weekend for the SUNYAC Championships.
