BUFFALO, N.Y.— Freshman
Bass Sarr (New York, NY/JREC) kicked off his Bengal career with two goals, helping Buffalo State earn a 2-0 win over visiting Alfred State in the non-conference season opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED- After a number of early scoring opportunities, the Bengals capitalized in the 14th minute when Sarr scored on a shot to the opposite corner off a strong cross at the top of the box from Luke Pavone (Churchville, NY/Churchville-Chili).
- Just over 12 minutes later Lorne Maxime (Bronx, NY/St. Joseph's) whipped around a defender and sailed a pass over to a ready and waiting Sarr, who tallied his second goal of the game and gave the Bengals a 2-0 lead.
- Buffalo State controlled the majority of play and outshot the Pioneers 27-3, including 17-3 on goal.
- Goalkeeper William Banahene (Rochester, NY/Brighton) recorded three saves and a shutout in his first game as a Bengal.
FOR THE FOES- Alfred State managed only three shots throughout the game.
- Freshman goalkeeper Kenneth Allport finished with 15 saves.
UP NEXTBuffalo State will travel to Rochester for two non-conference matchups. The Bengals take on Nazareth on Saturday at 11 a.m. and RIT on Sunday at 11 a.m.
