ROCHESTER, N.Y.—Three different Bengals scored as Buffalo State controlled play from the outset en route to a 3-0 victory over host Nazareth today in the Doug May Memorial Classic. The win gives Buffalo State its first 2-0 start to a season since 2011.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Buffalo State outshot Nazareth, 25-8, including 16-4 in the first half, but led just 1-0 at the intermission. The Bengals pulled away in the second half with goals in the 71st and 84th minutes.
- Bass Sarr (New York/JREC) opened the scoring with his third goal in his first two games as a Bengal in just the 19th minute.
- Junior transfer Luke Pavone (Churchville/Churchville-Chili) netted his first goal as a Bengal and added an assist.
- Devonte Black (Pickering, ON/Notre Dame Catholic) completed the scoring with his first goal of the season.
- Lorne Maxime (Bronx/St. Joseph's) added a pair of assists, and Danny Clavin (Holtsville/Sachem East) also had a helper.
- William Banahene (Rochester/Brighton) made six saves for his second shutout in as many starts since transferring to Buffalo State.
FOR THE FOES- Alex McLean made eight saves in the loss for the Golden Flyers.
