BEREA, Ohio—After winning five-straight matches to open the season, Buffalo State came away empty at the Marcia French Invitational in Ohio, dropping the final two matches today in straight sets against host Baldwin Wallace and Hiram.

HOW IT HAPPENED- After BW won the opening set 25-17, the Bengals took a 17-16 lead in the second set, but the Yellowjackets responded with an 8-0 run and claimed the second set, 25-18. BW closed out the match with a 25-17 win in the third set.
- BW finished with 43 kills compared to 24 by the Bengals and the Yellowjackets had a 33.7 hitting percentage versus just 1.0 percent by Buffalo State.
- Hannah Renaldo (N. Collins/N. Collins) led Buffalo State with seven kills and added two blocks.
- Jennifer Cecchettini (Hamburg/Frontier) had 16 assists and eight digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Hiram's front court produced 49 kills and a 31.7 attack percentage, compared to just 29 kills and a 15.2 attack percentage by the Bengals.
- Kayla Pyc (Grand Island/Grand Island) and Hannah Boltz (W. Seneca/Immaculata) had eight kills each for Buffalo State.
- Cecchettini dished out 21 assists to go with 15 digs, and Rachelle Kelchlin (W. Seneca/St. Mary's) had 18 digs.
NOTEWORTHY- Kelchlin was named to the All-Tournament Team for the Bengals.
UP NEXTBuffalo State will compete in the RIT Tournament next Friday and Saturday. The Bengals will open with Alfred University and Nazareth on Friday at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. respectively.
