CANTON, N.Y.—Buffalo State put on a late push, but could not break through, dropping a 1-0 decision at nationally-ranked No. 8 St. Lawrence today in a non-conference matchup.

HOW IT HAPPENED- St. Lawrence struck for the only goal of the game in the 15th minute on Chandler Short's first goal of the season.
- William Banahene (Rochester/Brighton) made five saves in goal for the Bengals.
- St. Lawrence finished with a 14-5 advantage in shots, with two of the Bengals' attempts coming in the closing minutes.
FOR THE FOES- Short scored on a diving header off a pass from Ross Suitor.
- Ryan Roethel made just one save to secure the shutout for the Saints.
