BROCKPORT, N.Y.— Despite playing a man-down for more than 20 minutes, Buffalo State was able to hang on for a 2-2 tie on the road in the conference opener against Brockport on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED- The Bengals wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as Danny Clavin (Holtsville/Sachem East) got a hold of a rebound off the Brockport goalkeeper and scored, putting Buffalo State up 1-0.
- Eight minutes later, Brockport tied up the game 1-1 on a free kick.
- Both teams had scoring chances throughout the rest of the first half, but were not able to get them into the back of the net.
- Less than five minutes into the second half, Brockport took the lead with a goal from Peter DiLorenzo.
- Bass Sarr (New York/JREC) tallied the tying goal at 75:36 after he ripped a free kick from outside the box that deflected off a Golden Eagle defender and into the net.
- Sarr was issued a red card after tallying his second yellow card in the 85th minute of play, leaving the Bengals to finish out the game down a man.
- The Bengals closed out the final minutes of the game and overtime on a defensive stand, stopping the Golden Eagles from scoring on several occasions.
- Brockport held a 20-9 advantage in total shots, as well as a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.
- William Banahene (Rochester/Brighton) played all 120:00 in net and recorded six saves.
FOR THE FOES- Collin Goettel and Peter DiLorenzo were Brockport's goal scorers.
- Goalkeeper Casey Sullivan finished with five saves in 120:00.
