CORTLAND, N.Y.—Buffalo State breezed past Utica and earned a four-set win over Hartwick to win the two-day Cortland Red Dragon Classic undefeated today, starting the season 4-0 for the first time in more than a decade.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Hartwick won the third set to extend the match, but Buffalo State hit 33-percent in the fourth set to put the match away.
- Hannah Renaldo (N. Collins/N. Collins) had 14 kills and six blocks to lead the Bengals' front row.
- Speen added 10 kills, and Pyc had nine kills.
- Cecchettini had 25 assists and 15 digs, while Hallett-Jonathan had 24 assists and four aces.
- Delaney Laper (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) had a team-best 18 digs to go with five kills.
NOTEWORTHY - Buffalo State was declared tournament champion based on fewer sets played than Fredonia (Buffalo St. 16, Fredonia 18). It is Buffalo State's first-ever championship in its 21st appearance in the Cortland Red Dragon Classic.
