BUFFALO, N.Y.—Gabriella Goddette snuck a shot from 20 yards inside the left post less than three minutes into the first overtime to help the University of Rochester earn a 2-1 victory over host Buffalo State in a non-conference game today at Coyer Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Buffalo State controlled the better part of play early, but found itself in a 1-0 hole in the 28th minute.
- The Bengals broke through to even the score in the 50th minute when Melissa Smith (N. Tonawanda/Niagara-Wheatfield) netted her third goal of the young season re-directing a long cross from Kristin Seiferth (Brightwaters/Bay Shore)
- The Bengals had the best chance to pull ahead in regulation when Tianna Hatch (Endicott/Elmira Free) rang a shot off the right post on a rush in the 66th minute.
- Rochester ended up outshooting the Bengals, 16-11 for the game, including 11-6 in the second half and overtime.
- Erica Knudsen (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) made five saves in goal for the Bengals.
FOR THE FOES- Goddette scored the game-winner when she collected a loose ball and fired a long shot into the back of the net in the 93rd minute.
- McKenzie Runyan opened the scoring with a shot off a short cross from sister Megan Runyan in the 28th minute.
- Madilynne Lee made six saves for the victory.
