BUFFALO, N.Y.—Buffalo State let a 17-points second-half lead slip away, but managed to pull away from visiting Fredonia in overtime for a 75-67 victory tonight in a SUNYAC contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Lovell Smith (Buffalo/McKinley) paced Buffalo State with 21 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks.
- Nico McLean (Buffalo/Amherst) added 17 points and nine boards.
- Michael Henry (Syracuse/W. Genesee) and Jordan Glover (Buffalo/St. Joe's) pitched in 12 and 11 points respectively.
- Buffalo State scored the final six points of the first half to take a 34-28 lead into the intermission, and pulled away early in the second half, pushing the lead to 17 at 53-36 with just 9:43 remaining.
- The Bengals still led by 10 with 4:38 remaining, but the Blue Devils clawed back in the game with a 9-0 run.
- Buffalo State continued to lead by two with the ball with 10 seconds remaining, but missed a pair of free throws with seven seconds left and Kasean Jackson made a running layup with just one second left to force overtime, tied at 61-61.
- The Bengals never trailed in overtime, and pulled away for the eight-point victory.
- Buffalo State forced 26 Fredonia turnovers, while committing 17.
- The Bengals shot just 6 of 16 from the free throw line.
FOR THE FOES- Ian Helps led Fredonia with 22 points and 15 rebounds.
- Dante Williams added 15 points and nine boards, and Kareem Brown scored 11 points.
NOTEWORTHY- The victory earned one point for Buffalo State in the season-long, all-sports "Battle by the Lake" competition between the two schools.
