ONEONTA, N.Y.— Despite holding the lead for the majority of the game, Buffalo State fell behind Oneonta in the final minute of play and lost the conference matchup, 54-53, on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED- The Red Dragons were the first to get on the scoreboard, going up 4-0 in the first two minutes of the game.
- Midway through the first quarter, a layup from Jordan Yastremski (Bath/Bath-Haverling) tied the game 6-6. Another layup, this time from Keyonte Edwards (Buffalo/O'Hara) gave the Bengals their first lead of the game.
- In the closing minutes of the quarter, Buffalo State pushed its lead out to nine, 18-9.
- The Bengals were able to stay on top until 5:21 in the third quarter when a Red Dragon 3-point play gave Oneonta a 33-32 lead.
- The game remained close and the teams were tied 39-39 heading into the final period.
- Two free throws from Britt Perry (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) with 1:50 left in the game gave the Bengals a four point lead, 53-49.
- Turnovers in the final minute, however, proved costly as Oneonta managed to tie and go on to take a one point lead, 54-53 with just six seconds on the clock.
- Even though the Red Dragons missed their second of two free throws, the Bengals did not have enough time to get the points they needed.
- Perry led the Buffalo State offense with 16 points, while Edwards added 15 points and pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds.
- The Bengals finished the night shooting 45.8 percent from the floor, 22.2 percent from long range and 53.8 percent from the free throw line.
FOR THE FOES- Lyteshia Price led Oneonta's offense with 16 points, while Bryn Loomis added 12 points and Cara Adams chipped in 11 points.
- The Red Dragons finished the night shooting 33.3 percent from the floor, 9.5 percent from long range and 75 percent from the free throw line.
