ROCHESTER, N.Y.—Nazareth led wire-to-wire and dealt visiting Buffalo State a 66-51 defeat to open the New Year today in a non-conference contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Britt Perry (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) led Buffalo State with 12 points to go with eight rebounds and six assists.
- Jordan Yastremski (Bath/Bath-Haverling) picked up a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards, and Caleh McLean (New Rochelle/New Rochelle) chipped in 10 points.
- Nazareth jumped out to an 11-3 lead and never trailed en route to the 15-point victory.
- The Golden Flyers led 23-11 after the first quarter and pushed the lead to 17 in the second quarter, used a late 7-0 run to cut the deficit to 38-28 at halftime.
- The Bengals hung around, trailing by eight entering the final frame, but Nazareth outscored Buffalo State 15-8 in the fourth quarter to pull away.
- Nazareth outscored Buffalo State 27-9 from 3-point range and 11-4 from the charity stripe.
FOR THE FOES- Lindsey Kelly led the Golden Flyers with 24 points and 12 rebounds.
- Sam Sorge added 23 points, and Veronica Peck added 11 points and six assists.
