BUFFALO, N.Y.— Buffalo State outscored Potsdam 18-4 in the second quarter, helping the Bengals cruise to a 70-40 conference victory over the Bears on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED- With the teams tied 6-6 at 7:37, the Bengals used a quick 5-0 run to take over the lead, 11-6, which it would keep hold of through the rest of game.
- Potsdam managed to stay close in the final minutes of the quarter and remained down by only five points, 17-12, heading into the next period.
- The Bengals picked up on the defensive end in the second quarter, however, allowing the Bears just four points in the first 2:13 of the period. Buffalo State was able to hold Potsdam scoreless for the remainder of the quarter and poured in 17 points to take a comfortable 35-16 lead into halftime.
- A pair of free throws from Britt Perry (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) with just over a minute left in the third quarter pushed Buffalo States lead out to 26 points, 48-22.
- The closest the Bears would get to the Bengals in the final quarter was 23 points, 55-32, at the nine-minute mark.
- Christal Smith (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) knocked down two free throws with 2:07 left in the game to give Buffalo State its largest lead of the game, 66-33.
- The Bengals finished the game shooting 32.8 percent from the floor, 18.2 percent from long range and 83.3 percent from the free throw line. The Bengals also held a 58-37 advantage in total rebounds and took advantage of Potsdam miscues, scoring 28 points off turnovers.
- Jordan Yastremski (Bath/Bath-Haverling) led Buffalo State scoring with 17 points. Keyonte Edwards (Buffalo/O'Hara) tallied her seventh career double-double, scoring 16 points and pulling down a career-best 18 rebounds. Caleh McLean (New Rochelle/New Rochelle) chipped in eight points and Perry added six points.
FOR THE FOES- Potsdam finished the game shooting just 22.7 percent from the floor, 28 percent from long range and 37.5 percent from the free throw line.
- Meghan Driscoll was the Bears only double-digit scorer with 10 points. Katie LaVoie added nine points and had a team-high seven rebounds.
