Taylor Carillo (Pine Bush/Pine Bush) and No. 23-ranked Buffalo State registered a shutout for the eighth-consecutive game, shutting down the league's top offense to defeat host Plattsburgh 2-0 today in SUNYAC action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Catherine Mammoser (Eden/Eden) opened the scoring, netting her fourth of the season in the 22nd minute. She raced after a long through ball and after the charging keeper's clearing attempt deflected off Mammoser's shin, she calmly chipped it into the empty goal.
- Melissa Smith (N. Tonawanda/Niagara Wheatfield) added an insurance marker with five minutes remaining, tallying her team-leading ninth goal of the season.
- Carillo made five saves for her ninth shutout of the year and extended her school-record shutout streak to 799 minutes and 55 seconds.
- The Bengals outshot the Cardinals 17-6 for the game and held an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.

- Nicole Gibson registered three saves in the loss for Plattsburgh.
NOTEWORTHY
- The win moved the Bengals five points clear of Geneseo and Oneonta for first place in the SUNYAC with three games remaining.
