Buffalo State men's hockey will host No. 3-seeded Geneseo in a SUNYAC Semifinal contest on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Ice Arena, marking the first-time the Bengals have ever hosted a semifinal contest.
 
The Bengals advanced to the semifinals by virtue of finishing second in the SUNYAC regular season, setting a school single-season record for wins under first-year head coach Steve Murphy.  Buffalo State is 15-6-4 overall and finished the conference slate 11-4-1, including a pair of wins over Geneseo, 7-4 on the road in November, and 3-2 in overtime at home on Feb. 12.
 
Geneseo earned its spot by posting a 9-2-5 regular season conference record and then defeating Potsdam, 4-1, at home in the quarterfinals on Wednesday to improve to 16-4-6 overall.
 
Buffalo State is making its sixth-consecutive playoff appearance and playing in the semifinals for the fifth-straight season.  The Bengals lost 2-0 at Geneseo in the 2014 semifinals. Buffalo State has never advanced to the SUNYAC Championship game. 
 
The winner will advance to the championship game on Saturday, March 5 at the highest remaining seed.  The other semifinal features No. 1 Plattsburgh hosting No. 4 Oswego.
 
Tickets will be available at the door with the box office opening at 6:00 p.m.  Adult tickets are $6 and students are $3.  Buffalo State and other SUNYAC students are free with valid ID.
