Alanna Herne (Tonawanda/Tonawanda) and
Sarah Lorusso (Lakeview/Frontier) each tallied four points to pace the Buffalo State offense, but the Bengals could not overcome a four-point halftime deficit and fell to RIT 15-9 on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Buffalo State took the early lead as Lorusso launched a shot past the Tigers goal keeper at the 22-minute mark.
- A minute later, RIT managed to tie things up, but Lorusso netted a second goal off a pass from Kyra Thompson (Massena/Salmon River) to give the Bengals back the lead.
- Buffalo State stayed ahead until two quick goals from RIT in the 14th minute put the Tigers ahead 5-4.
- RIT took advantage of a 3-0 run in the middle of the first half to go up 8-5.
- The Bengals found themselves down 10-6 heading into halftime.
- Herne pulled Buffalo State to within three, 10-7, in the opening minutes of the second half, but RIT quickly countered to go back up by four points and managed to stay in control of the lead for the remainder of the game.
- The Tigers goalkeeper made four big saves in the closing minutes of the game to help RIT seal the win.
- RIT held a 28-23 advantage in total shots and a 17-9 advantage in draw controls.
- Elyse Stark recorded the loss in net and tallied five saves.
FOR THE FOES- Emily Livecchi and Sammy Ward led the Tigers offense with five points apiece.
- Sophia Wojnovich earned the win in net, her first of the season and finished with nine saves.
