CLERMONT, Fla.- Buffalo State opened up its annual spring trip to Florida with a 6-4 loss to Salve Regina, but quickly bounced back in game two with an offensive surge to beat Western Connecticut State 12-9.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Laura Crooks (Niagara Falls/Niagara Wheatfield) and Cassandra O'Hern (Augusta, NJ/High Point) both went 3 for 4 from the plate.
- Chrissy Rennard (Brockport/Brockport) finished the game 2 for 3 with a run and two RBIs.
- Jordan Sarat (Caledonia/Caledonia-Mumford) recorded the loss in the circle after pitching the first five innings, allowing five runs on six hits with three walks and two strikeouts.
- Nicole Adams (Lockport/Starpoint) pitched the final two innings, allowing one run on one hit with two walks and two strikeouts.
- Salve Regina got on the scoreboard early in the first inning and never trailed the Bengals.
- Heading into the fifth inning, Salve Regina took advantage of three hits for three runs, including a two-run homer to take a 5-1 lead.
- The Bengals started to comeback in the bottom of the seventh, but fell short by two runs.
FOR THE FOES- Genevieve Benoit led the Salve Regina offense, finishing 2 for 4 with one run and two RBIs.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Sarah Gorski (Cheektowaga/Depew) had a strong showing, leading the Bengal offense, finishing 4 for 5 from the plate with three runs and three RBIs.
- Jean Stahl (W. Seneca/W. Seneca East) finished 3 for 4 with a run, while Stephanie Novo (Cheektowaga/Depew), Crooks and Rennard each went 2 for 4.
- Lexi Haley (Rochester/Aquinas) earned the win after tossing all seven innings, allowing six earned runs on 14 hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
- Buffalo State came out quickly in the second matchup of the day, finding its offensive power and taking advantage of multiple Western Connecticut State errors.
- A combination of three hits and three errors put the Bengals up 3-0 heading into the bottom of the first inning.
- Western Connecticut answered back in the bottom of the first. After four hits and a Bengal error, the Colonials found themselves with a brief 4-3 lead.
- The Bengals scored in each of the next six innings to hold onto a 12-9 victory.
FOR THE FOES- Erin Weber finished 3 for 5 with one run and one RBI to lead the Colonials offense.
- Emily Cintorino recorded the loss in the circle, pitching the first three innings, allowing seven runs with one walk and two strikeouts. Alle Sabith finished the final four innings, allowing five runs with three walks and four strikeouts.
