CLERMONT, Fla.-
Sarah Lorusso (Lakeview/Frontier) led the Buffalo State offense with six points, but the Bengals could not overcome a quick second half start from Williams and fell 16-8 in a non-conference matchup on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Lorusso tallied a team-high six points off three goals and three assists.
 - Alanna Herne (Tonawanda/Tonawanda) added a team-high four goals and one assist for five points.
 - Christina Krowel (Amsterdam/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) added one goal and Morgan Hogue (Painted Post/Corning) added one assist.
 - Elyse Stark (Lido Beach/Long Beach) recorded the loss in net, playing all 60 minutes and tallying eight saves.
 - The two teams traded the lead back-and-forth throughout the first half.
 - Two quick goals from Herne in the closing minutes of the half put the Bengals ahead 5-4, but Williams scored two quick goals of their own in the last two minutes to regain the lead, 6-5, heading into halftime.
 - The Ephs took over the game early in the second half with eight-straight goals in the first 12 minutes of play, giving them a 14-5 lead and never looked back.
 - Buffalo State was held scoreless in the second half until 10:57 and only managed to tally three goals in the closing minutes.
 - Williams finished with a 33-16 advantage in shots and an 18-6 advantage in draw controls. Both teams tallied 18 ground balls.
 
 FOR THE FOES- Emma Tenbarge led the Ephs on offense with five goals.
 - Margaret Draper earned the win in net, playing all 60 minutes and making four saves.
 
 UP NEXTBuffalo State returns to Buffalo and will open up conference play with 1 p.m. matchup against Potsdam on Saturday, April 2 at Coyer Field.
