BUFFALO, N.Y.—Buffalo State let a three-goal lead in the second half slip away as visiting Potsdam dealt the Bengals a 15-13 defeat in today's SUNYAC opener at Coyer Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Alanna Herne (Tonawanda/Tonawanda) led the Bengals' attack with six goals and one assist.
- Christina Krowel (Amsterdam/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) added five points with three goals and two assists, and Sarah Lorusso (Lakeview/Frontier) also scored three times and added an assist.
- Morgan Hogue (Painted Post/Corning) added one goal for Buffalo State.
- Elyse Stark (Lido Beach/Long Beach) allowed 14 goals and made five saves, before Megan Doyle (Palmyra/Palmyra-Macedon) surrendered the final goal against.
- Buffalo State fell behind 6-2 early, but roared back to tie the score at 7-7 with just three seconds remaining in the opening half.
- The Bengals scored the first goal of the second period and built a three-goal lead at 13-10.
- Buffalo State would not score again over the final 16:16, however, as Potsdam closed the game on a 5-0 run, including scoring the game winning goal with less than two minutes to play and added an insurance goal with 44 seconds left.
- The Bengals outshot Potsdam, 34-26, and had a 21-8 advantage in draw controls.
- The Bears had 13 saves, compared to just five by Buffalo State.
FOR THE FOES- Murphy Newman and Michaela Cole scored four goals each for Potsdam, while Bri McClusky added two goals and five assists.
- Katie Lapinski scored twice and Cayla O'Connor, Maggie McCabe and Mariah Pierce scored a goal apiece.
- Devan Olschewske finished with 13 saves for the Bears.
