CORTLAND, N.Y.—Senior
Stephanie Novo (Cheektowaga/Depew) drove in four runs and Buffalo State won its third-straight elimination game, defeating No. 3 Geneseo, 5-3, to advance to the title round of the SUNYAC Championship today at Cortland. Buffalo State defeated Plattsburgh, 6-3, earlier in the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Novo finished 2 for 4 with a double and four RBIs.
- Lexi Haley (Rochester/Aquinas) won her second game of the day to improve to 17-10, allowing just five hits and striking out three.
- Sarah Gorski (Cheektowaga/Depew) was 2 for 3 with two runs scored as the Bengals made the most of just seven hits.
- Buffalo State scored twice in the fifth and then pushed the lead to 5-0 in the sixth on a three-run double by Novo.
- Geneseo's runs came on a two-run homer in the sixth.

Buffalo State will play for the championship tomorrow against unbeaten top-seeded host Cortland starting at 11 a.m. In order to win their first SUNYAC Championship since 2009, the Bengals will need to beat Cortland twice.
