PITTSFORD, N.Y.—Buffalo State broke even on the second day of St. John Fisher Invitational, starting this morning with a solid performance in a four-set victory over Penn State Behrend, before falling in three sets against Allegheny.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State won a tight set, 25-23, to open the match, but fell out of rhythm in the second set, falling 25-12. The Bengals regrouped however, to claim the third, 26-24, and then sealed the win with a 25-21 victory in the fourth.
- Lauren Hansen (Blue Point/Bayport Blue Point) continued her strong freshman season with a season-best 18 kills to go with nine digs.
- Katherine Marte (Ithaca/Ithaca) stepped up as the setter in place of the injured Meg Brandon (Flint, MI/Grand Blanc) and dished out 41 assists.
- Allie Harford (Silver Creek/Silver Creek) added 10 kills and three aces, and Riley Chapman (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) had seven kills and 12 digs.
- Victoria Rigler (Amherst/Sweet Home) chipped in 12 digs.

- Hansen led the Bengals with six kills, and Marte had 14 assists.
- Rigler had a team-high nine digs.

- Hansen was named to the All-Tournament team.
