Men’s Soccer drops season-opener at RIT, 1-0

ROCHESTER, N.Y.— RIT scored just 30 seconds into the contest and held on for a 1-0 victory over visiting Buffalo State today in a non-conference season opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • RIT scored on its only shot of the first half just 30 seconds into the game.
  • Buffalo State controlled play for much of the afternoon, outshooting the Tigers 18-5, including 11-4 in the second half, but could not break through.
  • Sammy Wasson (Clarence/Clarence) led Buffalo State with five shots.
  • William Banahene (Rochester/Brighton) made two saves in goal.
  • Buffalo State also owned a 13-2 advantage in corner kicks, but could not assemble and effective set piece.
