HOUGHTON, N.Y.— Houghton outscored visiting Buffalo State 20-7 in the third quarter to pull ahead en route to a 70-60 victory tonight in a non-conference contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kendall Mills (Buffalo/Kenmore East) and Liv LeBaron (Horseheads/Corning Painted Post) led Buffalo State with 10 points apiece.
- Lay Knight (Brooklyn/Brooklyn Prep) added nine points and four steals.
- Buffalo State led 33-30 at halftime, but could Houghton mounted a 10-0 run to close the third quarter to take a lead it would never relinquish.
- Buffalo State forced 26 turnovers, while giving the ball away just 14 times, but was unable to overcome a 47-31 rebounding disadvantage.
- The Bengals also shot just 33 percent from the field including going 5 of 22 from 3-point range.
- The Highlanders shot 45 percent and were 7 of 21 from long range.

- Brittany Lenart led four Houghton players scoring in double figures with 18 points.
