BUFFALO, N.Y.—
Allie Block (N. Tonawanda/Starpoint) scattered nine hits in 14 innings pitched and also belted a game-two homer to lead Buffalo State to a pair of wins, 5-1 and 6-2, today over visiting Oneonta.
GAME #1 BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Block cruised in the circle for the opening-game victory, tossing a two-hitter, allowing just one unearned run while striking out four.
- Kaelee Lynch (Atwater, CA/Buhach Colony) was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs.
- Melissa Woods (Lakeview/Frontier) was 2 for 2 with a run scored, and Laura Crooks (Niagara Falls/Niagara Wheatfield) was 2 for 4 with an RBI.
- Danielle Szymkowiak (Cheektowaga/Cheektowaga) also was 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored.
- The Bengals struck first with a pair of runs on three hits in the third inning to take the early lead.
- Buffalo State assembled a four-hit rally and took advantage of an error to plate three more runs in the fifth inning.
- The Red Dragons finally got on the scoreboard with a sacrifice fly in the seventh after a pair of errors pushed a runner to third.
- Oneonta put two runners on via a walk and an error in the seventh, but Block pitched out of the jam to secure the victory.
FOR THE FOES
- Sabrina DeAngelis took the loss, allowing eight hits and three earned runs in 4 2/3 innings.
GAME #2 BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Block continued to be in command in the second game, scattering seven hits with four strikeouts. She was also 2 for 4 with a home run.
- Cassandra O'Hern (Augusta, NJ/High Point) was 3 for 3 with a three-run homer and two runs scored.
- Lynch went 2 for 3 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored.
- After scoring one run in the second inning, Buffalo State broke things open in the third with O'Hern's three-run blast, immediately followed by Block's solo shot to push the lead to 5-0.
- Oneonta converted three hits into a pair of runs in the fourth, but Buffalo State responded with another run in the fifth.
- The Red Dragons were retired in order in the fifth and sixth, and then loaded the bases with two outs in the seventh, but run into the final out at home trying to score on a passed ball.
FOR THE FOES
- Katie O'Gorman collected two of Oneonta's seven hits, including a double.
