BUFFALO, N.Y.— In the first ever night game held on Coyer Field, Buffalo State scored early and cruised to a 3-0 win over visiting D'Youville College in the second half of the Fred Hartrick Classic double-header tonight.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bengals started off the scoring early in the fifth minute, when Robert Williamson (Fishkill/John Jay) scored the team's first goal of the season off a deflection from a Luke Pavone (Rochester/Churchville-Chili) corner kick.
- Buffalo State extended its lead when a D'Youville defender headed an own goal off a Buffalo State throw in.
- Jake Ferry (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) found the back of the net for the first time in his career off a long punt from goalkeeper Andreas Queen (Stone Ridege/Roundout Valley).
- Goalkeeper Queen picked up the win in net for the Bengals, needing to make one save for the shutout.
FOR THE FOES
- Peter Petruzzo recorded five saves in net for the Spartans.
THE OPENING GAME
- Fredonia defeated Keuka in the opening game of the Classic by a 2-1 count, netting the game-winner in the final minute of the first overtime period. Dave Trabold's header off a free kick from Ryan Ross ended the contest.
- Joshua Card opened the scoring in the 50th minute for Keuka before Conrad Rathbun scored in the 55th minute to even the score for Fredonia.
