BUFFALO, N.Y.— In the first ever night game held on Coyer Field, Buffalo State scored early and cruised to a 3-0 win over visiting D'Youville College in the second half of the Fred Hartrick Classic double-header tonight.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Bengals started off the scoring early in the fifth minute, when Robert Williamson (Fishkill/John Jay) scored the team's first goal of the season off a deflection from a Luke Pavone (Rochester/Churchville-Chili) corner kick.  
• Buffalo State extended its lead when a D'Youville defender headed an own goal off a Buffalo State throw in.
• Jake Ferry (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) found the back of the net for the first time in his career off a long punt from goalkeeper Andreas Queen (Stone Ridege/Roundout Valley).
• Goalkeeper Queen picked up the win in net for the Bengals, needing to make one save for the shutout.

 
FOR THE FOES

• Peter Petruzzo recorded five saves in net for the Spartans.

 
THE OPENING GAME

• Fredonia defeated Keuka in the opening game of the Classic by a 2-1 count, netting the game-winner in the final minute of the first overtime period.  Dave Trabold's header off a free kick from Ryan Ross ended the contest.
• Joshua Card opened the scoring in the 50^th minute for Keuka before Conrad Rathbun scored in the 55^th minute to even the score for Fredonia.

The Fred Hartrick Classic will conclude tomorrow with Fredonia and D'Youville squaring off at 4 p.m., before Buffalo State hosts Keuka at 7 p.m.
